Overview
Finn Vora is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, performer, teacher, composer, and musical director. He began his professional career touring at 16, and since then has branched out into a number of facets of music performance, composition, and business. He currently studies Popular Music Performance at the University of Southern California, where he continues to develop and refine his skills. He works with a variety of artists in LA and elsewhere, establishing himself as a versatile and valuable addition to any group or project. He recently performed at the Foundry in Philadelphia backing up Wallis, was on tour this summer playing the music of Frank Zappa with several of Zappa's bandmates. (see "Shows"). Touring with Jon Anderson of Yes
As a member of the Paul Green Rock Academy from 2021 to 2023, Finn toured extensively in the United States and Europe with Jon Anderson of the legendary rock band Yes, performing the bands’ classic repertoire to tens of thousands of fans over the years. During these shows, Finn was frequently featured as lead guitarist on some of Yes’ most demanding material, such as their 18-minute long suite Close to the Edge and hits such as Owner of a Lonely Heart, Seen All Good People, and Long Distance Runaround. Finn also performed on bass, keyboards, and percussion during these shows, cementing his capabilities as a versatile and reliable musician. Symphony Orchestras to Jazz Bands
Finn has extensive experience playing in a wide variety of ensembles on different instruments. In addition to guitar, bass, and keys, Finn played the viola in school orchestras from the 4th grade through high school, participating in symphony, chamber, and quartet ensembles. Finn was also a member of school jazz bands all 4 years of high school, primarily playing guitar and sometimes filling in on bass. As a member of the jazz band, he has played at a variety of community events, such 76ers games, and jazz clinics hosted by Temple and Rowan Universities.
Private Lessons
Over the years, Finn has taught guitar lessons to a variety of students, ranging from 7 year olds to teenagers to adults. Finn is an invested teacher whose focus is on helping students attain their individual goals as musicians.
